About Just Fair

Just Fair is a UK civil-society organisation working to achieve lasting, positive change through the promotion and protection of economic, social and cultural rights.

It is the only UK-wide organisation dedicated solely to advancing these rights, connecting lived experience with the policy forums where decisions are made.

The role

The Director will lead Just Fair’s strategy, organisational development and sustainability, strengthening its influence and partnerships to advance economic, social and cultural rights across the UK.

Strategic and external leadership
  • Lead the development and delivery of Just Fair’s vision and strategy.
  • Position economic, social and cultural rights within debates on human rights, poverty, inequality, economics and public policy.
  • Identify opportunities for influence, innovation and partnership.
  • Represent Just Fair in national and international forums.
  • Build relationships with policymakers, civil society organisations, funders and partners.
  • Shape policy agendas through advocacy, public engagement and campaigning.
Organisational leadership and sustainability
  • Lead, support and develop a small, high-performing team.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive and values-led culture.
  • Lead organisational fundraising, income generation and financial planning.
  • Work with staff and trustees to secure and diversify income.
  • Maintain strong governance, legal compliance, accountability and transparency.
  • Contribute directly to research, advocacy, communications and programme work.
About you

You will bring significant senior leadership experience in civil society, alongside experience of staff management, fundraising, partnership development and influencing change.

You should be a strategic thinker and strong communicator who can translate vision into action, build trusted relationships and lead effectively in a small organisation. A deep commitment to human rights and social justice is essential.

Hours, location and salary

This is a permanent role working 28 hours per week, which can be delivered flexibly. The team works remotely from home in the UK and Just Fair has no office base, although the successful candidate must be within easy reach of London.

£68,000–£73,000 per annum pro-rata
