Job summary

Job description

General laborer, specializing in utility work. Responsible for pot-holing, locating while another person operates the drill, restoring and/or landscaping disturbed areas of the job site, equipment set-up, conduit/duct/cable placement, setting hand holes, etc. Pay will be based on experience. We are willing to train the right candidate and help employees grow and further their careers in the construction industry. CDL License a huge plus!

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of the public and other utility underground facilities.
• Assist in potholing and remediation.
• Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins.
• Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine.
• Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment.
• Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs etc.)
• Follows specifications for the job and company policies.
• Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site.
• Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.
• A good driving record is required.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
