Job summary

Life'sWork of Western PA is hiring Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Roles involve coaching, supporting skill development, and working at production facilities as well as partner sites.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, coordinating with care teams, and ensuring a safe environment. Requires a high school diploma or GED and reliable transportation; driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, degree in psychology or related field preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in basic computer documentation and record-keeping.
• Reliable transportation and valid PA driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide job coaching across program areas including facility, community, and small group locations.
• May transport participants to and from worksites using company vehicles.
• Complete daily documentation of progress toward participant goals.
• Support participant outcomes and adherence to care plans.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Contribute progress information for team meetings as requested.
• Engage with participants daily to foster growth and opportunities.
• Identify accommodations to assist participant needs as required.
• Deliver person-centered support and model professional behavior.
• Complete and maintain annual staff qualifications (24 hours training per year).
