Job summary

Carey Services in Wabash, IN is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with disabilities in the community. This full-time role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (8:30AM–4:30PM) and hands-on care, helping clients with daily living, community activities, and personal development.

Responsibilities include promoting independence, documenting activities, and ensuring safety and proper PPE use. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to learn basic principles of teaching; good basic math and English writing.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, stand for extended periods and assist in lifting or transferring individuals.
• Ability to follow all safety and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals create a meaningful day and promote independence.
• Assist with daily living tasks and personal care.
• Support community participation and outings.
• Build trust and relationships; accompany individuals in the community.
• Document care and activities, maintain records for billing and notes.
