Job summary

Journey Found, Inc. in Connecticut seeks a Direct Support Specialist to assist individuals in group homes with daily living activities, transportation, and medication administration. You will document program data, participate in team meetings, and help implement routines to promote independence and safety.

The role requires a HS diploma, valid driver’s license, and willingness to complete MAP, PMT, CPR, and first aid training. Benefits and training are provided for full-time employees.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years driving experience with a valid license.
• Experience with behavioral management preferred.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing; willing to complete MAP/PMT/CPR/FA.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (dressing, cooking, bathing, toileting).
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Administer medications as trained and document accordingly.
• Document program data and communicate with Nurses, Supervisors, and Directors.
• Deescalate situations and support consistent routines.
