Job summary

NCI Affiliates, Inc. in Salinas/Monterey hires Direct Support Professionals to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities through hands-on job skills development in diverse settings such as janitorial, yard work, and retail.

You will provide direct support, monitor safety, give feedback, and collaborate with a team to meet program goals while maintaining a compassionate and professional approach. The role requires a vehicle, CA driver’s license, CPR/First Aid training, ability to lift up

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must have a personal vehicle, a valid California driver's license, and current state-required auto insurance.
• Ability to complete First Aid and CPR training.
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, twist, walk, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills, compassion, and a commitment to supporting others.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and training to individuals with intellectual disabilities in workplace settings.
• Assist clients in developing job skills and overcoming employment barriers.
• Guide and encourage clients through tasks such as janitorial, yard work, or retail duties.
• Offer constructive feedback and positive reinforcement to enhance client performance.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all individuals served.
• Collaborate with team members to meet program goals and uphold contract expectations.
• Represent NCI Affiliates professionally when interacting with community partners and employers.
