Job summary

MARC, Inc. of Manchester is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in group homes.

This part-time role involves helping with daily living activities, finances, nutrition, and medical needs while promoting independence and community involvement. The ideal candidate has compassion, strong interpersonal skills, and good judgment, with a valid CT driver\'s license and vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid CT driver\'s license and a vehicle with current CT registration and insurance.
• CPR/First Aid/PMT and Medication Certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain CT license, auto-registration, and vehicle insurance as driving is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, compassion, and good judgment.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provides staff and natural supports to and implements services for each person served.
• Helps individuals participate in their community using natural supports.
• Assists with home, finances, nutrition, and medical needs to the best of abilities.
• Works with Group Home Manager on goals for people served.
• Maintains residential settings according to physical standards.
• Ensures rights and confidentiality and models positive behavior.
• Attends MARC trainings including CPR, First Aid, PMT, and Medication Certification; trainings must be completed within six months of hire.
• Transports persons served in agency or personal vehicle as needed.
