Job summary

Envision Unlimited in Illinois seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals with disabilities achieve and maintain independence in community living. You will assist with daily tasks, personal care, medication support, and transportation in a residential setting.

Responsibilities include crisis de-escalation, meal preparation, and light housekeeping, while upholding safety protocols. Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and behaviorally challenging

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED is required.
Be able to pass a background check.
Reliable transportation is required.
DSP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor and assist residents with personal grooming and appearance as necessary.
Transport and accompany residents to appointments and other services.
Supervise and assist residents in taking their medication in accordance with program guidelines.
Assist residents in preparation of daily schedules to include chores, activities, and appointments.
Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
Monitor and assist residents with daily bedroom maintenance.
Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies following appropriate procedures.
Plan menus and assist with meal preparation.
Perform other essential responsibilities as needed to meet program requirements.
