Job summary

Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority (NeMCMHA) is seeking caring Direct Care Worker/Residential Training Worker to support individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health needs in residential and community settings.

You will assist with daily living tasks, transportation, medication distribution, and group activities, while collaborating with a supportive team in a trauma-informed, compassionate environment. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities and mental health issues is helpful.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Lived experience with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or substance use is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in group homes and community settings.
• Assist with daily living tasks, transportation, and medication distribution/documentation.
• Facilitate activities based on treatment plans and participate in team meetings.
• Maintain accurate records including progress notes and incident reports.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and consistent living environment.
