Job summary

The Sanga Corp is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at our Glendale, AZ location. You will follow individualized plans, help with daily living tasks, transportation, and community integration, while maintaining documentation and ensuring safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 18, and some experience in human services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of experience in human services preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support according to individual service plans, including personal care, socialization, skill/behavioral development, recreational activities, transportation, community integration, shopping, and daily living tasks.
• Maintain accurate documentation, review records regularly, and ensure confidentiality.
• Assist with management of individuals’ funds and make purchases aligned with their preferences.
• Maintain professional relationships with individuals, families, guardians, and case managers.
• Report incidents, medical issues, and concerns per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Respect and protect individuals’ rights.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments as needed; communicate with medical providers.
• Administer or support medication administration and maintain proper documentation and security.
• Monitor health and follow directives; respond to emergencies appropriately.
• Use medical equipment correctly and report malfunctions.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
• Attend orientation, ongoing training, and staff meetings.
• Work scheduled hours reliably; fill in for other shifts if required.
• Demonstrate teamwork, respect, and effective communication.
• Maintain a safe work environment and participate in safety-related activities.
• Transport individuals safely, ensuring proper use of safety equipment.
• Perform daily and seasonal housekeeping; maintain safe and clean environments Conduct minor repairs, yard maintenance, and safety checks.
• Report hazards or equipment issues promptly.
• Perform additional duties as required.
