Job summary

Lovingheartskansas is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with disabilities lead independent, fulfilling lives through compassionate daily living support and advocacy. You will assist with personal care, meal preparation, health monitoring, and coordinating activities, while documenting progress and coordinating with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Daily Living Activities: DSPs help individuals with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation, and assist with household chores to maintain a safe living environment.
• Health Monitoring: DSPs monitor health and well-being, report changes in behavior or health to appropriate personnel, assist with medication administration and ensure adherence to health plans.
• Behavioral Support and Skill Development: Help develop and implement behavior plans, teach self-care skills, and promote independence and self-advocacy.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of services provided, including progress notes and incident reports for continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
• Advocacy: DSPs advocate for rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, helping access resources and community inclusion.
