Job summary

COMMUNITY WORKSHOP & TRAINING in central Illinois seeks a Direct Support Person to provide training and supervision to adults with disabilities in a home‑like setting. You will assist with daily living activities, personal hygiene, meals, and mobility, while maintaining a safe, sanitary environment.

Responsibilities include transportation, coordination of medical appointments, and contributing to mandated trainings. The role requires attention to safety and accurate completion of paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance if the shift requires.
• Experience working with adults with disabilities helpful.
• Must complete DSP classes and pass, complete and maintain Medication Administration authorization

Responsibilities

• Assist or perform programming to help residents achieve Discovery Plan goals.
• Assist residents with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Change and wash soiled linens and assist with laundry.
• Participate in activities and transportation of residents.
• Assist residents with mobility and prepare meals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary bedroom and bathroom.
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
• Perform daily facility cleaning, laundry, and bed checks as required.
• Administer medications.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.
