Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time Direct Support Person to assist individuals in self-care, hygiene, meal preparation, housekeeping, socialization and recreation, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting personal goals and behavior plans, contributing to Service Plans, providing transportation when needed, and engaging clients in community activities while maintaining reliable attendance and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Clear, comprehensible communication in writing and speech.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR and First Aid basics are preferred but not required.
• Must be able to pass the TABE test.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to work all shifts, including overnights and weekends.
• Access to reliable transportation is required.
• il statutory minimum liability insurance coverage is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, implement, and document personal goals and behavior programs.
• Develop and contribute to the daily Service Plan and logs.
• Provide transportation as needed and assist with community integration.
• Maintain regular and consistent work attendance.
• Demonstrate professional, respectful conduct with clients, families, and staff.
