Boone County Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Specialist for our residential program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on developing rapport, ensuring safety, and helping residents thrive in daily living and community activities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or 4 years of experience with IDD, be able to obtain a Class E Chauffeurs license, and pass background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years' experience with individuals with IDD.
• Experience providing direct care to individuals with IDD preferred.
• Ability to obtain Class E Chauffeurs license and have access to a licensed vehicle.
• Must pass background checks and a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsabilidades

• Develop rapport with residents and maintain a safe, supportive relationship.
• Assist residents with daily living activities: hygiene, grooming, cooking, laundry, cleaning, shopping.
• Help residents connect with the community; assist with transportation to work, activities, and appointments.
• Support residents in pursuing personal goals by implementing planned services with the team.
• Collaborate with the person served, plan teams, and supervisors to monitor progress toward goals.
