Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional in Rock Falls, IL (Ave B, 2nd Shift). The role involves helping clients lead self-directed lives, assisting with activities of daily living, and supporting community integration.

Responsibilities include teaching independence, personal care, self-medication oversight, and teamwork with staff. Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday work are required, with potential CDL if Day Services is offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass TABE test on hire.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Teach, train and promote independence with the individuals we serve.
• Assist clients in learning to be independent.
• Assist with daily living skills including personal hygiene, mobility and dietary.
• Assist and monitor clients with self-medication program.
• Provide vocational and life skills training individualized to client needs.
• Read and follow individual service plans and communicate changes.
• Transport clients safely.
• Communicate client concerns and accomplishments to the team.
• Attend meetings and complete required paperwork to ensure compliance.
• Document and communicate on the computer system.
