Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health - Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Support/Care Professional in Paxton, MA, with a start wage of $21.12/hour and up to $24.58/hour with higher education or experience. The role runs Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a $250 MAP certification bonus.

We serve youth ages 4 to 14 in a 1:3 staff-to-student setting, focused on safety, reintegration, and therapeutic support.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• MAPS certification, or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
• Must attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA followed by the schedule as stated.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation.
