Job summary

GIL Foundation Inc. is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Connecticut. You will help with daily living activities, personal care, meals, and community involvement to promote independence and safety.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and dependable individuals with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to learn and follow care plans and safety guidelines.
• Experience in caregiving welcomed but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living activities and personal care
• Encourage independence and personal choice
• Prepare meals and assist with household tasks
• Administer medications after certification
• Follow individualized care and behavioral support plans
• Accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and community activities
• Complete daily documentation
• Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming home environment
• Work as part of a caring and professional team
