Job summary

Intandem Solutions in New York's Olean area is seeking a Direct Support Professional to enable people we support to live independently. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR

Program Supervisor – Supportive Apartments

POSITION SUMMARY

Enables the people we support to lead a self-directed, independent life and maintain their home environment by providing formal instruction, guidance, and support. Areas of assistance include but are not limited to: Shopping, cleaning, banking, exercising, medical appointments, and transportation. Maintains proper documentation of all scheduled visits.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Education, Training & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and dependable transportation
• Preferred Education, Training & Experience: One to two (1-2) years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities, and/or dually diagnosed intellectual developmental disability and mental health disorders.
• Any teaching or training experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to be available and responsive to “on call" demands
• Ability to transport the people we serve in Agency van or personal vehicle
• Ability to identify fluctuations in the needs of the people we serve and take appropriate action while demonstrating solid judgment and initiative.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally, in writing, telephone, 1-on-1, or in groups
• Ability to deal with multiple tasks efficiently and adaptively
• Ability to obtain and maintain medication administration certification
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPI certification
• Ability to react appropriately to emergency or other unusual situations
• Ability to conduct fire and evacuation drills
• (Caseload and number of weekly visits are determined based on the needs of the individuals.)

SALARY

• $17 per hour starting rate
• $17.50 per hour rate of pay following successful completion of medication administration training
• $150 stipend per week when on call
