Job summary

West Bay RI is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide restorative and rehabilitative services in RI communities. Earn $24.00-$25.00/hour with a weekend differential of $1.00/hour, in full-time and part-time roles.

You will support individuals with I/DD and mental health needs, implement care plans, promote independence and wellbeing, and work closely with clinical staff to enhance routines and life skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: 1-2 years providing rehabilitative or behavioral support to individuals with I/DD and mental health needs.
• Safety Care Certification is preferred (current or previous).
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physical: Ability to lift 25-50 lbs and perform related tasks.

• Provide motivational, consistent and respectful support to foster high-quality relationships.
• Use crisis intervention skills and provide intensive support during challenging moments.

As a Restorative Support Professional, you will play a critical role in implementing behavioral health care plans and supporting individuals in achieving greater independence, emotional well-being, and community integration.

What You'll Do

• Deliver restorative and rehabilitative services based on individual behavioral health care plans.
• Provide motivational, consistent, and respectful support to foster high-quality relationships.
• Use crisis intervention skills and offer intensive support during challenging moments.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to enhance individuals' daily routines and life skills, including: nutritional guidance, employment and volunteer opportunities, social and relationship development, personal care and hygiene, medication administration
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes growth and autonomy.

Who You Are (Required Skills & Qualifications)

• Deep understanding of intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-occurring emotional/mental health needs.
• Skilled in monitoring, documenting, and communicating progress clearly and professionally.
• A natural role model with a positive, caring demeanor and a strong sense of teamwork.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience providing rehabilitative or behavioral support to individuals with I/DD and mental health needs.
  • Safety Care Certification preferred (current or previous).
• Licensure: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. (with assistance or lifting devices), and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, pushing/pulling, or kneeling without restriction.
