Job summary

Waypoint is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Western Region of Maine. The DSP will promote independence, safety, and dignity while working within a team and in the community.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a driver’s license, and English proficiency. Training paths for DSP, CRMA, and Safety Care certifications are part of the role. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour with benefits included.

Qualifications

• Hight School Diploma or GED.
• Must become DSP, CRMA and Safety Care certified as a primary responsibility of the DSP position.
• Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence and clean driving record.
• Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to develop skills for independence and community participation.
• Build rapport and plan activities aligned with goals.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality in all services.
• Assist with personal care tasks respecting dignity.
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities.
• Document services accurately in health records and plans.
• Operate within safety policies and regulations.
