Job summary

Out of the Box Solutions is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support to individuals with ID/DD. You will assist with daily routines, accompany clients in the community, and help them pursue personal goals with compassion and respect.

This role offers flexible scheduling, competitive hourly pay, and a supportive team. Prior caregiving experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred; training and certifications are available as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year caregiving or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Smartphone required.
• CPR/First Aid/AED (or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines (cooking, cleaning, personal care with the client).
• Help clients get into the community and stay engaged.
• Follow care plans and goals.
• Communicate with families and your team.
• Complete notes and documentation.

Client 1:

• Male | 9yrs | 97140
• Schedule: Mon-Fri 2:30 pm-5:30 pm and some weekend hours
• Likes: Being physically active and that helps keeps his mind busy, loves both his family dogs, labor-doodles, the dogs help reduce his stress and anxiety. Communication is very important to him
• Needs: Must be Neuro-diversity affiring, be familiar with or willing to learn the declarative language and/or low demand language. Be kind and patient and work on redirection and communication

Client 2:

• Male | 9yrs | 97140
• Schedule: Mon- Fri 2:30 pm- 5:30pm and some weekend hours
• Likes: Enjoys a balance of social interaction along with his introverted needs. Loves staying active and is very athletic
• Needs: Help with creating a routine, predictability and prepping him especially in new situations, giving him time and space to calm down when he becomes frustrated. Being patient and willing to listen when he is speaking or needs something.

Requirements

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of caregiving or related experience
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
• Smartphone required
• Must be able to successfully pass all state-required background checks and meet all ODDS employment eligibility requirements.
• CPR/First Aid/AED (or willing to obtain)
