Job summary

Holcomb Behavioral Health System is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to provide care and support for individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community group home in Boothwyn, PA. The role includes training, supervision, and implementing individual plans under supervision of the Division Manager and House Manager.

Shifts are PRN, with pay rate of $17.50/hour. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma; experience is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience not required; willingness to train in residential habilitation setting.
• Ability to work in a team and follow individual plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist persons served in becoming more independent.
• Act as a positive role model and support person.
• Provide guidance, instruction, coaching per individual plans.
• Engage individuals in approved programs and activities.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments and outings.
• Directly assist with personal care as needed.
• Assist with meal preparation and homemaking duties.
• Ensure safety and manage medical/medication needs.
• Apply approved behavior plans when needed.
• Complete records and reports per Agency policy.

Under the general direction of the Division Manager of Residential Services, with specific supervision from the House Manager, is responsible for the provision of support, personal assistance, training, and quality care to people with intellectual disabilities residing in a community group home.

Job Duties

• Assist persons served in reaching their goals of becoming more independent
• Act as a positive role model for persons served
• Provide guidance, instruction, coaching, and support, in accordance with individual plans
• Engage individuals in beneficial programs and activities
• Transport and accompany individuals into the community for appointments and outings
• Directly assist with personal care as needed
• Assist with meal preparation and routine homemaking duties
• Assume responsibility for the safety of the person served including medical/medication needs
• Apply approved behavior plans and intervention strategies as/if needed
• Complete records and reports; collect data according to Agency policy

Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint-based federal criminal history; Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list
