Rock Creek Foundation seeks Direct Support Professionals to mentor young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Prince George's and Montgomery County, MD. Staff provide daily living support, emotional encouragement, and community integration in a welcoming team environment.

Qualifications

• Driver's license with ≤3 points and access to a vehicle for work.

• Strong customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and participate in community activities as a Community Guide.
• Provide life-skills coaching in money management, literacy, health & wellness, and home tasks.
• Support independence by transitioning clients to active routines outside the Day Program.
• Coordinate safe transportation from programs to home or activities; mileage reimbursed at federal rate.

What You'll Do:

• Be a Community Guide:Plan and participate in fun, meaningful and integrated community activities.
• Life Skills Coach:Provide hands‑on help with money management, literacy, health & wellness, and household tasks like meal prep.
• Support Independence:Help individuals transition from "Day Program" to active, engaged evening and weekend routines.
• Reliable Transit:( Hyattsville / Rockville / Lanham) Ensure safe pickup and transport from programs to home or activities. Mileage Reimbursement at federal rate!

What We Require:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Must possess a valid driver's license with no more than 3 points and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with adults diagnosed with varying intellectual disabilities and or developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to work individually as well as within a team. Must be able to multi‑task.
• Must be able to work with 'high‑risk' consumers who have mental illnesses as well as development or intellectual disabilities as well as physical.

• Hourly Rate Range:$20.00 - $21.00
