Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Baldwinsville area with a woman in her late-20’s who has Autism and anxiety. She and her family will provide new hires training on how to redirect her when she is experiencing high levels of anxiety.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Baldwinsville area with a woman in her late-20’s who has Autism and anxiety. She and her family will provide new hires training on how to redirect her when she is experiencing high levels of anxiety. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to assist her with increasing her independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with finding activities in the community to do, light housekeeping, assisting with walking her dog, meal preparation and encouraging exercise. This individual is very shy and introverted and asks that staff encourage her to come out of her shell and explore activities in the community. She is a huge Pokémon and FNAF fan, and is interested in multiple different video games, puzzle/escape rooms, and creating digital art. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience is a plus but willing to train. Reliable transportation and an HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Hiring for Mondays from 10-5. The pay rate is $21.50- $23 per hour DOE.
