Job summary

INDERA is seeking a Creative and compassionate Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted young man with a developmental disability. You will help him learn independent living skills, teach him to communicate and interact with others, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community.

The DSP will document time, mileage, and service records daily.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

Direct Support Professional - Syracuse

INDERA (Formally Expectational Family Resources/ARISE) is seeking a creative and compassionate Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted young man with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills, teach him skills to communicate and interact with others, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community. The ideal candidate for the DSP position will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and strong organizational skills.

Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.

Hours and days of work

• Any Day of the week
• Flexible schedule
• Hours can be made specific

Pay Rate

Pay rate: $25.00 per hour when providing direct support.
