Job summary

Crest Services in Chariton, IA, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a part-time weekend and evening role. You will provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with various needs in a home-like setting, promoting independence and goal attainment.

The DSP will work with residents to assist with daily activities, monitor health changes, and coordinate with care teams. Training is provided; healthcare experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Previous caregiving/healthcare/DS P or CNA experience preferred but not required.
• Dependable, compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to build positive relationships with individuals supported, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal prep).
• Encourage independence with respectful, person-centered support.
• Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming home environment.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' health or needs.
• Assist with transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for well-rounded support.
• Help individuals participate in meaningful activities and daily routines.
