Job summary

Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide community-based, in-home support for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Cedar Grove, NJ.

The role is part-time, in-person, with starting pay of $22–$28 per hour based on experience and ISP complexity. Schedule is 7 hours per week; dependability and a person-centered approach are essential for meaningful community engagement.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming as needed)
• Supporting housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning)
• Preparing meals according to dietary needs
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living skills
• Following individualized service plans and behavior support strategies
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities
• Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities
• Always promoting safety and well-being
• Maintaining professional communication with guardians and agency staff
