Job summary

Royal Community Support in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist an individual with developmental and intellectual disabilities at home and in the community. You will help with daily living skills, meals, transportation to appointments, and participation in social activities, following personalized service plans.

Ideal candidates are patient, reliable, and capable of working independently in a one-on-one setting; schedule is Monday–Friday 7:30am–3:30pm, 40 hours

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable transportation required and driving record checked.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.
• Background checks and drug screen required.
• Strong communication and professional interaction with guardians and agency staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Support housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning).
• Prepare meals according to dietary needs.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills.
• Follow individualized service plans and behavior support strategies.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
• Promote safety and well-being at all times.
• Maintain professional communication with guardians and agency staff.
