Job summary

The Charles Lea Center in Wilmington, NC is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with disabilities in daily living at client homes and in community settings. You will promote independence, support daily living skills, and document care notes with accuracy.

This role offers competitive pay ($18.03/hour with weekend shift differential), a sign-on bonus, paid training, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and PTO.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver)
• Valid driver’s license
• Social Security number
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Ability to pass required background and reference checks

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.
• Promote independence and dignity in every interaction.
• Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.
• Communicate important information to supervisors and team members.

Work Location Flexibility:

While this position is assigned to client homes living in our Wilmington, Leland or Hampstead, NC locations, All Direct Support Professionals may be required to work at other Charles Lea Center sites as needed based on staffing and operational needs.

Physical Requirements:
