Job summary

The Charles Lea Center in NC is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help people with disabilities live independent lives. You’ll work in client homes, provide daily living support, and help with activities, meals, personal care, and skill-building.

This role offers competitive pay ($18.03/hour with weekend differential), a 2nd shift sign-on bonus of $1,250, paid training, PTO, and medical/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass background checks.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP/CNA/PCA/RBT/Med Tech/Caregiver).

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.
• Promote independence and dignity in every interaction.
• Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.

Aboutthe Role:

As a DSP, you'll work in a residential setting, in the client's home, supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. Your responsibilities may include:

• Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.

• Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.
• Communicate important information to supervisors and team members.

What You'll Need:

• Minimum age: 18
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver)
• Valid driver's license and Social Security number
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Ability to pass required background and reference checks

Work Location Flexibility:

While this position is assigned to client homes living in our Wilmington, Leland or Hampstead, NC locations, All Direct Support Professionals may be required to work at other Charles Lea Center sites as needed based on staffing and operational needs.

Physical Requirements:
