Job summary

Charles Lea Center in Clayton and Smithfield, NC, seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help people with disabilities live independently in home and community settings.

As a DSP, you will assist with daily living, participate in activities, document progress, and advocate for safety and dignity. The role offers a competitive pay rate of $18.03/hour with weekend differential, a $1,250 sign-on bonus, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and above.
• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred (DSP, CNA, PCA, RBT, Med Tech, Caregiver).
• Valid driver’s license and Social Security number required.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills, grooming, meals, personal care, and medication administration.
• Support individuals in activities, community outings, and skill-building.
• Promote independence and dignity in every interaction.
• Document daily notes, training steps, and updates in Therap.
• Communicate important information to supervisors and team members.

Aboutthe Role:

As a DSP, you’ll work in a residential setting, in the client's home, supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. Your responsibilities may include:

What You’ll Need:

Work Location Flexibility:

While this position is assigned to client homes living in our Clayton & Smithfield, NClocations, All Direct Support Professionals may be required to work at other Charles Lea Center sites as needed based on staffing and operational needs.

Physical Requirements:
