Job summary

RHDD is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities in southeastern Ohio. You may wear many hats, from teaching tasks to supporting daily living activities and transportation.

Responsibilities include documenting health tasks, assisting with personal care, meal prep, finances, and reporting safety concerns to supervisors. You will build trust and become a valued part of the individuals' extended family.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License with current insurance and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Teach individuals to complete tasks.
• Assist with daily living activities (housekeeping, meals, shopping, finances).
• Assist with personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, positioning).
• Provide transportation to activities (appointments, outings, shopping, vacations).
• Document and administer medication and health tasks.
• Report suspected medical issues to supervisor.
• Build trusting relationships with individuals and act as a supportive presence.
