Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities and community engagement. This 20-hour/week role includes every other weekend and a pay range of $20 to $20.50 per hour depending on experience and certifications.

You will provide total care, support independence, and advocate for residents while maintaining clear care records and communicating with the team to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Provide total care with daily routines including hygiene, cooking, cleaning and laundry.
• Transport to and from day programs and to doctors’ appointments.
• Administer medications as required.
• Promote independence and respect for residents.
• Maintain clear, respectful care records for continuity.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

PAY RANGE

$20 - $20.50 per hour (Depending on years of experience and certifications)

Work Schedule

The work schedule is 20 hours/week, every other weekend 9 AM - 9 PM.

How You’ll Support

• This is a total care home. You will provide full support with daily routines such as total hygiene care, cooking, cleaning laundry housekeeping, transporting to and from day programs Drs. Appointments and medication administration etc.
• Help promote independence
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

Minimum Requirements
