Job summary

CSN-Omaha is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team. Starting pay is $16.00–$17.00/hour, depending on knowledge, skills, and abilities. Full-Time and Part-Time positions available with flexible schedules.

As a DSP, you will support adults with developmental disabilities in daily living, encourage independence, and assist with tasks such as cooking, hygiene, and transportation. Training is provided, and a strong attendance record is essential.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance required
Reliable vehicle to transport clients during shift
Ability to pass all background checks
Experience in customer service or health/social care helpful but not required
Experience with IDD/mental health a plus
Ability to learn Therap/KRONOS or similar systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
Physical ability to perform job duties

Responsibilities

Support adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in independence
Assist with daily tasks such as cooking and medication management

Direct Support Professional (Caregiver) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

NOT ALL are required just nice to have! We provide free in-service training for all employees!

Must be 18 years of age or older (Required)

High school diploma or GED (Required)

Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance (Required)

Reliable vehicle to transport clients during shift (Required)

Ability to pass all background checks (Required)

Any experience with Customer Service, Human Services, Caregiver, In-home services, Healthcare, Home Health Care, Foster system, Shared Living or Host Home, Assisted Living, Nursing Home, Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Services, CSN, LPN or Registered Nurse (Helpful but not required)

Any experience in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) such as Autism, Behavior Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, and/or Mental Health Disorders such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, Eating Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and addictive behaviors (Helpful but not required)

Proficient computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Therap, or KRONOS or the ability to learn new applications

Excellent attendance and punctuality and the a bility to achieve and maintain training and certifications which require afull range of motion and physical strength

Effective communication and collaboration – the ability to effectively convey information to others as well as follow oral and written direction

Attention to detail and organization – the ability to prioritize and manage all duties, rules, documentation, and other components of the job with focus and accuracy

Confidentiality – the ability to protect data, information, and client and employee privacy

Compassion – the ability to be concerned for another person’s well being

Helpful certifications include MANDT Training, Medication Aide (Med-Aide) and CPR

PT or FT Residential DSP: 230/3pm-10pm (all residential schedules must include at least one weekend shift)
