Job summary

Merrick, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Offsite Services Department.

You will help coach clients daily as they work in the community, transporting them to work sites and supporting their day-to-day routines with patience and respect. This full-time, Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:00 pm role offers a set schedule, health, dental and vision options, a 403B retirement match, paid time off, life insurance for employees and dependents, and opportunities for wage

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• At least 6 months of relevant experience.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
• Ability to use electronic devices, databases, and internet-based applications.
• DOT medical examiner certificate and medical waiver preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport client to work location in company vehicle.
• Assist, coach, and train clients in various work tasks.
• Ensure quality standards are met.
• Support client concerns and needs.
• Complete client attendance and payroll in the data system.
• Transport clients back to Merrick, Inc. at the end of the workday.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) working in our Offsite Services Department you will work with, support, and coach clients at their given work locations. You will transport the client(s) to their work location and interact with and coach the clients in their day-to-day routines. This position provides a key service enriching the lives of both the clients and the community. You will provide support to clients who are wanting to work independently within the community.

Merrick, Inc. offers life enrichment, employment, and adult day services to more than 400 clients. We are the largest day program in Ramsey County with a 60-year history of leadership in Person-Centered Planning, Self-Advocacy, and meaningful work options.

This position is Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, with No Weekends and No Evenings!

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• 6 months or more of relevant experience
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to use electronic devices, including databases and internet-based applications.
• Maintaining a current DOT medical examiner certificate and medical waiver is preferred.
