Sunshine Communities in Maumee, Ohio is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, one-on-one care for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role focuses on supporting daily activities, mobility, and meaningful life experiences within a community setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with dressing, meal prep, medication administration as trained, and maintaining a clean, safe home environment.

Qualifications

• Prior direct care, caregiving, and DSP experience preferred, but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• Proof of auto insurance.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, physical exam, and therapy assessment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Participate in community outings and activities.
• Build positive relationships with individuals and families.
• Support daily routines and meaningful life experiences.
• Assist with dressing and grooming.
• Meal preparation and feeding assistance.
• Provide toileting and personal hygiene support.
• Assist with bathing and showering.
• Administer medications as trained and authorized.
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Assist with repositioning and mobility needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment (laundry, linens, kitchen).
• Complete documentation and other assigned duties as needed.
