Job summary

LSS is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Ada, MN, to provide person-centered care and support for up to 4 residents in a residential setting. This full-time role offers 7:00am–7:00pm shifts and a $16.00/hr base with potential raise to $16.50/hr after six months, plus a $2,500 hiring bonus.

No prior experience required; comprehensive training is provided, including DHS background checks and driving to community activities. Join a mission-driven team focused on dignity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Need a genuine heart for helping others and support through person-centered care.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record for community activities.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check to ensure a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities: personal care, hygiene, meals, housekeeping, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living.
• Advocate for rights and preferences of people served.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in trainings and meetings.
• Support a residential group home setting up to 4 people with identified needs.
