Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help individuals pursue their goals through person-centered care and supportive guidance. You will build meaningful relationships and provide practical daily living assistance in a residential setting.

The role includes aiding with personal care, meals, transportation, and home tasks, promoting community involvement, and advocating for clients’ rights and preferences.

Qualifications

• A genuine heart for helping others
• No prior experience or formal education required
• Comfort with basic computer use
• Ability to read and write in English
• A valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Ability to pass a DHS background check

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs' rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
