Job summary

Indera seeks a dedicated Direct Support Professional to work with a social young man, helping him build independent living skills such as money management, budgeting, cooking, and household routines. You will foster his independence and provide supportive guidance in daily tasks.

In this role you will accompany him to social, recreational, and physical fitness activities in the community, encourage participation, and model reliable, enthusiastic, and creative engagement.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexible schedule.
• Reliable transportation to arrive at job site.
• Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with an active and social young man who enjoys legos, playing video games, and going to the YMCA. He recently finished attending Inclusive U and would like to begin preparing for living independently in the future. In this role, you will help him learn and strengthen independent living skills including money and household management skills so that he can achieve this goal. In addition, you would accompany him to social, recreational, and physical fitness activities in the community. He is seeking someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, creative, and active.

Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required.

Hours and days of work

Hours are flexible and can be worked out with the family upon hire. It would generally be daytime, weekday hours, but could include some evenings or weekends for activities. Up to 30 hours per week.

Payrate: $22.00/hour

Location: Jamesville
