Job summary

ARISE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE INC in Camillus, NY seeks a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to help a 53-year-old male access the community, attend outings, and provide patient, responsive support.

Schedule is Tue, Wed, Fri 9:00 AM–2:00 PM with potential for additional hours. Pay rate is $19.25/hour. Must be 18+, have a NY driver’s license, and reliable transportation; flexibility with assignments and schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
• No experience required but experience with disabilities preferred.
• New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with community access and outings (YMCA, Destiny USA, bowling).
• Support the individual’s needs and be responsive to preferences.
• Coordinate transportation and arrive on time to scheduled shifts.
• Provide companionship and support in home and community settings.

He enjoys going to the YMCA for physical activity and participating in community outings such as bowling at Flamingo Bowl and walking at Destiny USA mall.The ideal candidate is patient, personable, and committed to helping him access the community while being responsive and open to supporting his individual needs.This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services. at the agency.Hours and days of work: Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s 9AM-2:00PM.
