Job summary

May Institute is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our adult residential program in Massachusetts. You’ll support adults 22+ with autism and developmental disabilities in daily routines, meals, hygiene, and community activities.

Work with clinical and family teams to implement treatment plans, use behavior support strategies, and promote independence in a safe, respectful setting. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; MAP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 1 year of licensed driving experience required.
• Experience with adults or individuals with special needs preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with daily routines including hygiene, meals, dressing, and medication.
• Create a positive, structured environment that encourages communication, socialization, and skill-building.
• Use behavior support strategies to promote emotional regulation and reduce challenging behavior.
• Partner with clinical, familial, and healthcare teams to support individualized treatment plans.
• Provide transportation and community integration support for outings, appointments, and program transitions.
