Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Alabama to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges in home and community settings. You will support goals identified in each person’s plan and help with daily living activities and transport.

The role requires independence, strong communication, confidentiality, and willingness to advocate for individuals.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift, twist, bend, push over 30 lbs.
• Complete pre-employment screenings including background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Accompany individuals to work, events, and community outings.
• Assist with independent living and daily living activities.
• Document care provided and maintain confidentiality.
• Connect people with resources to achieve goals.
• Promote effective communication and decision-making.
