Job summary

Bayberry Inc. provides supported living services to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are responsible for providing guidance, instruction, and support to clients in their own homes.

All responsibilities described are essential functions unless waived for an individual client. DSPs assist with medications, daily routines, and transportation to appointments, while supporting planning and scheduling of social outings.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, insurance, and an acceptable DMV record.
• Complete fingerprint clearance, TB test, and negative pre‑employment drug screening.
• Must be reachable by telephone reliably.
• Preferred: at least one year of experience with persons with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, support, and instruction to clients in their own homes and in the community.
• Assist with medications.
• Assist with daily routines, household chores, shopping/meal preparation, and personal care.
• Assist with transportation to appointments and planning team meetings.
• Assist with scheduling social and recreational outings.
• Promote and maintain a positive and supportive environment.
• Participate in planning team discussions when requested and inform supervisor of any needed information.
