New Horizons in Autism, Inc. (NHIA) is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with autism in a residential home in New Jersey. You will provide direct care, support independence, and ensure health and safety while fostering life skills.

We offer comprehensive training, ongoing professional development, and opportunities for advancement within a nonprofit setting. Starting pay is competitive and aligned with local NJ wages for DSP roles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree required.
• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license (non-probationary).
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interact professionally with individuals with autism.
• Complete pre-employment requirements: Central Registry, CARI, DMV check, Drug screen, Physical, PPD testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision in a residential home.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Administer and document medications.
• Teach and reinforce independent living and life skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities.
• Complete required documentation accurately and professionally.
• Support day-to-day operation of the residence.
