Job summary

New Horizons in Autism (NHIA) is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with autism in a residential setting. You will help residents build independence, confidence, and life skills while ensuring safety and well-being.

We provide extensive on-the-job training, competitive hourly pay starting at $19.00, paid time off, tuition discount programs, and opportunities for advancement within a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals we serve.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree (diploma or transcripts required).
• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Valid, non-probationary New Jersey driver\'s license.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism.
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including: Central Registry, CARI, DMV Check, Drug Screening, Physical Examination, PPD Testing.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and supervision in a residential home
• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Administering and documenting medications
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills
