Job summary

Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Alaska is seeking a part-time support specialist to provide direct assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will coordinate village-based services, help individuals access resources, and work with the Traditional Council to ensure safety and well-being.

You will meet regularly with individuals and families to address self-sufficiency challenges, with focus on community-based support and local service coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in special education, child/family health and development, counseling or community development.
• Minimum education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience in human services, social services, or psychology preferred but not required.
• Minimum one year experience preferred.
• AA degree preferred.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience with consumers with special needs or related conditions.
• Driver’s license required or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support services to assigned individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Coordinate village-based services and assist individuals in accessing resources.
• Work with Traditional Council to assure individuals are safe and well.
• Meet regularly with individuals and families to address issues of self-sufficiency.
