Job summary

Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation seeks a dedicated individual to provide direct support to people with developmental disabilities. You will coordinate village-based services and assist in accessing resources, working with the Traditional Council to ensure safety and well-being.

You will meet regularly with individuals and families to help address challenges and enhance self-sufficiency within a rural Alaska setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent/GED.
• Experience and/or education in special education, child/family health and development, counseling and/or community development, human services, social services, liberal arts education, sociology, psychology, preferred, not required.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience working with consumers with special needs, Intellectual/Developmental Disability, co‑occurring disorders, developmentally delayed, and/or substance abuse involvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support services to assigned individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Coordinate village-based services and help individuals access resources.
• Work with Traditional Council to assure safety and well‑being.
• Meet regularly with individuals and families to support self-sufficiency.
