Job summary

Center for Developmental Disabilities is seeking a part-time DSP to support individuals with developmental disabilities at our Wantagh, NY center. The position offers a modest hourly wage with opportunities for sign-on and career growth. Requires AMAP/SCIP certification, high school diploma, and NYS driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Complete and maintain AMAP and SCIP certification, as per policy.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day.
• Able to sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• It is the responsibility of the DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to advocate for those they support.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to work as part of a team at their site(s) to ensure the best support for individuals and to achieve mutual goals.
