Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) II in Jefferson, IA. This contract - part time role pays $19 per hour with 24 hours per week, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges in home and community settings.

The DSP II will assist residents with daily living activities and follow the resident’s Individual Service Plan, ensuring safety and respectful, person-centered care. Benefits available where eligible.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid and current auto insurance.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct Support Personnel II assists individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth and development of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home, community or residential setting.
• Works directly with residents and provides supports for activities of daily living and adaptive skills.
• Follows the guidance of the resident’s Individual Service Plan.
