Job summary

One Vision is seeking a Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Ames, Iowa to assist individuals receiving services with daily living activities, personal care, and community involvement. The DSP will utilize technology to document progress, participate in an on-call rotation, and travel as needed for training and support in the Ames service area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to respond calmly in urgent or unexpected situations.
• Comfort using technology and electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support with daily living activities and personal care.
• Encourage independence and skill development while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Use technology and electronic systems to document services accurately.
• Monitor health, safety, and behavioral needs per support plans.
• Provide in-person assistance, coaching, and problem-solving as needed.
• Respond professionally to emergencies and unexpected changes in needs.
